Experimenting with Body Consciousness

The device I created aims to enhance the user’s awareness of their body movement while walking (not unfamiliar to the Feldenkrais concept) as a way of getting in touch with the body in a more personalised and sophisticated way. It was designed to highlight the concepts of self-awareness and spatial awareness while walking, allowing the user to more consciously develop a rhythm of walking to add more enjoyment to the experience. The device also creates a visible and engaging display of the body as it moves in rhythm with the bones and joints, encouraging both the user and those watching to pay greater attention to their movements, speed and positioning when walking in the city.
